When the threat of Earth being taken over by Rita Repulsa arose after she was freed from her dumpster prison on the Moon, a wise old sage named Zordon, who had established a Command Center in Angel Grove, recruited five teenagers to assume the power of the Morphing Grid to defend the planet as Power Rangers - Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, and Trini. When the battle escalated, they would call on their individual assault vehicles named Zords and destroy the monsters who threatened peace in Angel Grove, all while trying to live normal lives as high school students.
The Rangers have gone through many roster, Zord, and power changes. Rita gave the Dragon Coin to a new student at Angel Grove High- Tommy, who fought against the Rangers as the evil Green Ranger, and later joined the team once the spell over him was broken. Tommy eventually lost his powers as the Green Ranger and gained new powers as the White Ranger.
To defeat Lord Zedd, who arrived to take over Rita's task, the Rangers needed to upgrade their Dinozords into Thunderzords, and later bring back Tommy as the White Ranger. Shortly after, Jason, Zack and Trini left for Switzerland to attend a peace conference, and left their powers to three allies of the Rangers- Rocky, Adam and Aisha, who became the new Red, Yellow, and Black Rangers.
When the team lost their powers after an attack by Rita's brother Rito, the Rangers took a trip to the Temple of Power, where Ninjor gave them new powers and Ninja Zords, which were later joined by the Shogun Zords.
Kimberly's departure to train for the Pan Global Games paved the way for Katherine, who took her place as the Pink Ranger. The Rangers' Power Coins were stolen by Goldar, and destroyed by Rita and Zedd, putting an end to the Power Rangers as we knew them, and setting forth the events that would transform them into Zeo Rangers.
One fateful day, Master Vile used the Orb of Doom to reverse the rotation of Earth and turn back time, reverting the Rangers into powerless children. While the Alien Rangers and a restored Billy defended the Earth, the children went to different points in time to retrieve a piece of the Zeo Crystal, which was shattered and scattered throughout time by the Rangers themselves. Upon their return, the Zeo Crystal was reassembled, and its power was used to restore the planet back to normal.
Their victory did not last long. Rito and Goldar infiltrated the Command Center and stole the Crystal, just before the explosive device they had planted earlier went off, leaving the Command Center in ruins, and the Rangers without a headquarters. While searching through the wreckage, the Rangers found the Zeo Crystal, apparently dropped by the two villains, and then fell into the underground Power Chamber, their new base of operations, where Zordon and Alpha-5 retreated to during the explosion. While celebrating the defeat of the Power Rangers, Zedd's palace is attacked by the Machine Empire, who wants to take over the Earth as well, causing Zedd, Rita, and the rest to evacuate and head for the M-51 galaxy to live with Master Vile. Using the power of the Zeo Crystal, Tommy, Kat, Rocky, Tanya and Adam became the Zeo Rangers, Earth's last hope against the Machine Empire.
Mondo's plan to divide and conquer was working, and for the Rangers to succeed, they needed help from the Gold Ranger, Trey, who travels to planets where evil needs to be defeated. With the Golden Power in danger of being lost, they were given to former Red Ranger Jason, who joined the team as the sixth Zeo Ranger until it was time to return the powers to Trey.
To travel to Muranthias and go up against Divatox and Maligore, the Rangers had to shift into high gear by accepting new Turbo Powers, leaving behind their days as Zeo Rangers.
After travelling to Earth, space pirate Divatox abducted an alien wizard named Lerigot to use his magical key to go to Muranthias and free her fiancée Maligore. The Rangers weren't about to let this happen, and so they upgraded to Turbo Powers, since the Zeo Powers wouldn't be enough to take on Maligore.
Practicing for a martial arts tournament, Rocky injured his back, and later sent Justin in his place to become to the new Blue Ranger and help the team on Muranthias, where they used the Turbo Zords to destroy Maligore. An infuriated Divatox swore vengeance on the Rangers, and returned to Angel Grove to terrorize it with detonators and monsters.
The Rangers continue to battle Divatox, with the help of new mentor Dimitria, and new assistant Alpha 6, who arrived after Zordon and Alpha 5 left for home. Tommy, Kat, Tanya, and Adam were relieved of their duties as Power Rangers, so that they could pursue other aspects of life, and they passed on their powers to a new generation of Rangers - TJ, Carlos, Ashley, and Cassie.
The new Rangers found guidance and assistance in a mysterious new ally known as the Phantom Ranger, who literally appeared out of nowhere, with the power to turn invisible, and helped the Rangers fight Divatox's forces. His identity remained secret, and he eventually departed Earth, but not before giving the Rangers powerful new Zords called the Rescue Zords.
Unfortunately, in the end, the Turbo Rangers were unable to stop the Power Chamber's destruction at the hands of Divatox. The now powerless Rangers, excluding Justin, who stayed behind with his father, left Earth in a Space Shuttle in hopes of saving Zordon, who was kidnapped by Dark Specter.
The Power Chamber has been destroyed by Divatox, and the Turbo Powers are gone. As the Rangers hide in the ruins of their former base of operations, Divatox leaves for deep space, where a federation of evil leaders is called together for an urgent summit. Among the familiar faces: Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, Master Vile, and the Machine Empire. Their new leader, Dark Specter, has kidnapped Zordon, and plans to drain his powers for evil. He has placed princess of evil Astronema in charge of destroying the Rangers.
United to foil Dark Specter's plot, the Power Rangers must travel into deep space and free Zordon before his powers become Dark Specter's. They acquire a NASADA spacecraft and take off, leaving Justin behind with his father. In space, they meet a Red Ranger, who gives them powers and allows them to team up with him against Dark Specter.
On their search for Zordon, the Rangers encounter their old friend the Phantom Ranger, who gives Andros a disc which will give him control of the Delta Megazord. Some time later, Andros retreived keycards from an alien casino, which showed him the location of the Mega Voyager, five spacecraft which assembled into a Megazord.
When the Megaship landed on an alien world, it was broken into by some hostile aliens, who inadvertently set free Zhane, the Silver Ranger, who was in a cryogenic sleep on the ship, healing from wounds. Zhane left the Rangers a short while after, to help some KO-35 rebels who were under attack. The rebels gave Zhane the Mega Winger, which he used to return to the Rangers when they needed him.
Andros discovered that Astronema was actually his long lost sister, Karone, kidnapped by Darkonda many years ago on KO-35. When she also found out the truth, she thought twice about being evil, and eventually joined the Rangers, only to be once again kidnapped by Darkonda and turned evil by an electronic attachment on her head.
During their last battles, the Rangers lost the Delta Megazord, the Mega Winger, and the Mega Voyager. With only the Astro Megazord left, the Rangers had to find a way to defeat the forces of evil, which had launched a full scale assault on the entire universe. Andros had to destroy Zordon's tube, which released a wave of energy which swept across the universe, putting an end to the Machine Empire, Zedd, Rita, Divatox, and Astronema, who had become Karone once more, and joined the Rangers back to Earth.
A newly built space colony, Terra Venture, begins its journey into outer space to discover a new planet where the human race can thrive. An adventurous youngster named Leo sneaks aboard, and his life will never be the same. On a training mission, Leo and his teammates come across a rift in space, out of which comes a visitor from an alien world.
When this visitor, named Maya, enlists the aid of Leo and his friends, they step into the portal and find a village being overrun by local villain Scorpius' soldiers. In order to battle these evil creatures and protect the planet, the heroes pull Quasar Sabers from a stone, and use their powers to become Power Rangers. Leo's brother Mike falls into a chasm, seemingly lost forever. The planet is frozen in stone by Scorpius' general Furio, and the Rangers flee to Terra Venture, where the stay to protect the colony from invasion.
When the Rangers freed five gigantic beasts from Scorpius, they returned the favor by helping them defeat monsters, first as beasts, and later as Zords, and as the powerful Galaxy Megazord.
A rogue warrior with a mysterious past had appeared on Terra Venture. His name was Magna Defender, and he was on a mission of vengeance against Scorpius, who had killed his son thousands of years ago. He brought with him the magnificent Torozord. It was discovered that Magna Defender had absorbed Mike's spirit to re-energize himself, which was not allowing him to do evil deeds. Magna Defender finally released Mike just before regaining his honor and sacrificing his life to save Terra Venture.
When the Rangers were in trouble, the spirit of Magna Defender appeared to Mike and passed his powers to him, making Mike the new Magna Defender. He had all the weapons and abilities of the original.
Major shake-ups were in store for the crew of the Scorpion Stinger. First, Princess Trakeena abandoned her father, refusing to be metamorphed into an insect. Then, a stranger named Deviot became Scorpius' new general. He unleashed his three powerful Zords on the Rangers - Centaurus, Stratoforce, and Zenith. The Rangers discovered that these Zords were actually the missing Galactabeasts, and they were turned back to the side of good, now serving as the Rangers' newest Zords. This treacherous scoundrel then set up Scorpius' death to take the cocoon meant for Trakeena, but Trakeena returned just in time to prevent it. She returned with great power and fighting ability, and brought along her trainer Villamax, and his sidekick Kegler.
Deviot obtained the Psycho Ranger keycards, and restored them to have them battle the Galaxy Rangers. A distress call from Alpha brought the Space Rangers to help them out. Kendrix and Cassie followed Psycho Pink to an alien planet, where Kendrix was apparently destroyed. Her Quasar Saber was retrieved by Karone, who used it to become the new Pink Ranger.
Deviot's quest for power led him to the Galaxy Book, an artifact retrieved by Leo and Mike on a rescue mission. The power of the book gave Deviot power, but also transported Terra Venture into a lost galaxy, with no way out. This lost galaxy is home to Captain Mutiny, who seeks to enslave the inhabitants of Terra Venture.
The Galaxy book eventually returned the station to normal space. Captain Mutiny followed in his castle, which was destroyed by Trakeena. Deviot managed to escape, and forcibly merged with Trakeena, creating a ruthless new being which attacked Terra Venture, making it crash land on a moon, where Trakeena and the Rangers had a final showdown, resulting in Trakeena's destruction. The inhabitants evacuated to a nearby planet, and the Rangers soon followed. The new planet was revealed to be Mirinoi. The Rangers placed their swords back in the stone, turning Maya's tribe back to normal, and returning Kendrix back to our physical plane.
Thousands of years ago, four demons were trapped in a tomb by a powerful sorcerer. These demons threatened mankind, and lived only to conquer and destroy. A group of nomads opens the tomb, unwittingly releasing the demons into present day. The demons, led by Diabolico, seek to reclaim their city and palace, which is now a US city known as Mariner Bay. When defense organization Lightspeed hears of this news, they immediately initiate their emergency plan - to summon five hand picked individuals to utilize their technology to become Power Rangers, and defend the city from the demons' attacks.
The Lightspeed Aquabase is home to cutting edge technology, developed by Angela Fairweather and her team of scientists. The first of their creations were the Rescue Zords, five vehicles which combined into the Lightspeed Megazord, and the Rail Rescues, which combined into the Supertrain Megazord.
When it was decided to add a sixth Ranger to the team, the Titanium Morpher was created. However, its power was proven to be too much for a person to handle, so it was retired. Shortly after, the Titanium Morpher was stolen by Captain Mitchell's disgruntled son Ryan, who used it to get revenge at his dad, but eventually joined the team as the Titanium Ranger, and was given a new Zord, the Max Solarzord.
Diabolico's frustration in failing to defeat the Rangers ultimately led to his destruction, which paved the way for Impus to evolve into Olympius, who restored his mother, Queen Bansheera, to her bodily form. One of her first plans involved sending an asteroid hurling towards Earth. To stop this, the Rangers were given the Omega Zords, five spacecraft which combined to form the Omega Megazord.
At odds with Olympius, Vypra and Loki revived Diabolico, who rejoined the demons. He was defeated by Olympius, and placed under a spell to make him a mindless lackey. The two powerhouses destroyed the Lightspeed and Supertrain Megazords, but were defeated by the newly developed Lifeforce Megazord.
With only the Queen left, she focused her efforts to take over the Omega and Lifeforce Megazords. She successfully destroyed the Lightspeed Aquabase, but both Megazords were destroyed by the Rangers. The Rangers then raided the Skull Cavern, where they imprisoned Queen Bansheera in the demon tomb, restoring peace to Mariner Bay.
